St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Congregation, Mumbai

With the prayers and persistent efforts of the members, the Nerul Church construction was commenced in 1991.After the partial completion, the temporary consecration of the church was solemnized on 25th March 1995 by H.B. Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I Catholicose. After entire completion of the work,the Mooron Koodasha was solemnized on 27th & 28th February 1999 by H.G Thomas Mor Dionasios and H.G Thomas Mor Themotheos.This was an important landmark in the history of the Congregation.

The Holy Relics of Late Lamented Ignatheos Elias III,Patriarch of Antioch and all the East (Manjanikkara Bawa) was interred in the Nerul church in 1999.Subsequently the tomb was enshrined at the Church on 26th October 2000. A large number of devotees from Navi Mumbai and other areas visit the Church to seek the blessings of the Bawa.
